Tampa, Florida (July 7, 2008) ----- Tampa Microwave, an established designer and manufacturer of RF and microwave communications and test equipment for various commercial and government applications, announced the appointment of Obie Johnson as vice president of new business development. Mr. Johnson will have responsibility for product marketing in addition to domestic sales development, key account support, and management of the sales representative network.
Prior to joining Tampa Microwave, Obie was president of Intelligent Systems, Solutions and Services of St. Petersburg, FL. Over the course of his career in the communications industry, he has held a variety of management positions in business development, program management and engineering, including tenures with Allied Signal (Honeywell), E-Systems (Raytheon), and the Harris Corporation. Mr. Johnson holds a BSEE with honors from Auburn University and an MSEE from the University of South Florida.
